  more abuse in today's watchtower study

  today's study picks on the most vulnerable among us.

  the mentally ill. .

  the watchtower apparently hasn't learned that depression and mental illness are that a medical condition.

  Paragraphs 11 and 16 thru 20 focused heavily on the value of positive thinking, problems associated with depression, bipolar and individuals with little or no self-esteem. Paragraph 4 even says that David suffered from bouts of emotional distress. Then there is the pictures on page 10 and 11 showing how WT prescribes studying JW publications, going to meetings and field service to cope. My guess is that the ‘sister’ in the pictures is suffering from some sort of depression associated with low self-esteem.

  So yes, I think Solomon hit it spot on. JWs are screwed-up in the head. Of the 155 publishers in our congregation, I would say that a high percentage could relate to this study article.

  Bottom line….associating with the WT causes mental discease!

  Talk about opposites:

  Matthew 9:20 says that Jesus Christ lovingly healed a woman who for 12 years suffered from a flow of blood. On the other hand Mark Sanderson and his 7 other WT leaders are the reason why tens of thousands over the years have bled to death!

  Thank you Marvin for reminding us how bizarre this religion and its' leaders are!

  Blondie’s opening comment: ‘No conventions for Christians in the NT so the WTS must reach back in history.’

  WT often claims how JW’s form of worship is patterned after 1 st century Christians. Horse pucky, not so in connection with assemblies and conventions!

  I Looked up ‘Assembly’ and ‘Convention’ in the Comprehensive Concordance only to find out the Jesus Christ made zero mention of such gatherings in his time. The rest of the Christian Greek writers likewise made no such mention of them.

  These modern day JW assemblies and conventions are just another invention, concoction of WT leaders.

  The article should have been entitled: “Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregate Their Joyful People”

  KM School last weekend

  since sir82 pretty much covered the highlights of the drivel i only have this to say about it besides total waste of time:.

  the 2 witness rule is very much still in effect for pedophilia.

  they barely covered that 10/1/12 letter to all bodies, basically the co read it and even skipped some parts.

  My mother passed away this morning...

  for any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.

  she had been in the hospital for a month.

  it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

  WT Elders school: Look how cute that kindly old elder is! Too bad the Talmud says we have to stone our victim anyway

  more haphazard thougths on the recently concluded elder school..... a big chunk of time was spent on a video which traced a judicial case, all the way from the confession to the elders through the decision to disfellowship the guy.. here is a very brief synopsis of the video:.

  tearful late-teen or early-20's publisher confesses to 2 elders that he committed fornication with a "worldly girl" who is now preganant and wants to marry him.

  the elders give him some "homework" to do prior to his judcial committee - read psalm 51 and an old wt article.

  We need to remember that this is just a video and not necessarily what is currently taking place among Elders in JCs the way WT would like.

  Is it possible that most if not many Elders are like Bro. ‘Old-and-Kindly’ and wanting to emulate Jesus Christ and be merciful? Otherwise, why else would there be a need to bring this topic up at an Elder’s refresher school unless there is a problem among JW Elders and their reluctance to DF fellow members.

  The same issue came up a few years back when another Elders’ school was conducted. Back then, the Elders were told that there were too many public reproofs and not enough disfellowshippings.

  Apparently, the matter needed to be brought up again. This time around, WT is wanting to make sure the point is made once and for all by use of a video: Disfellowship! Disfellowship! Disfellowship!

  Quite the contrary Ethos! I was told by several Elders who have already attended, that the reason for the video presentations is to have the school program given in a uniform, systematic manner worldwide so that all the elders in WT world are on the same page with Mother on how congregational situations should be handled. That pretty much rules out Elders being able to use their own ‘discernment’. After all Elders’ improperly handling of Judicial matters is what has gotten WT in so much legal hot water!

  This school is all about damage control and keeping the Elders under Mothers’ thumb!

  The above is the difference between having insight and not having insight. Sir82, you obviously have insight. Excellent observation! We look forward to more.

  WT would like its readers to believe that it was mostly uninformed anointed publishers that had wrong expectations of 1914.

  The truth of the matter is that the quote in paragraph 11 is from a WT heavy by the name of A. H. Macmillian who was a close associate of C.T. Russell and who would few a years later become a WTBTS board member. His full quote is taken from a book he later wrote entitled ‘Faith On The March’:

  “ That was a highly interesting time because a few of us seriously thought we were going to heaven during the first week of that October….. I believed it myself sincerely--that the church was "going home" in October. During that discourse I made this unfortunate remark: "This is probably the last public address I shall ever deliver because we shall be going home soon." (chapt 4 pg47)

  A. H. Macmillian was a WT gifted speaker whose talks motivated many and molded their thinking that often resulted in wrong expectations and broken promises, much like what we see the GB doing today.

  The Apostle Paul says it best at 1Thes 2:3: “For the exhortation we give does not arise from error or from uncleanness or with deceit.”
